These are the core hours that we are open for drop-in. Appointments are available on weekdays before we open for precision sharpenings, mountings, and skate fittings. Please call a day or more in advance to arrange an appointment.
Services Offered for Hockey Players:
Although our specialty is figure skating, we are happy to work on hockey skates. We will sharpen your skates to the hollow you specify, and the edges will be level from the front of the blade to the back. We can also rocker hockey skates. Rockering means that we machine a new curvature into the blades.
Services Offered for Figure Skaters:
Fitting:
We are dealers for Graf, Jackson, Klingbeil, and Riedell figure skates. We will fit you with the correct length and width. Your boots will be modified so that they do not hurt or give you a blister. We specialize in ouchless ice skates, and can almost always accomplish that.
Mounting:
We can mount your blades onto your boots, or move your existing blades. We can adjust the blades as we watch you walk in the lobby. Also, we can follow you around on the ice and move the blades based on the answers you give to our questions, so that you feel the edges are balancing best for you.
Sharpening:
We offer a standard sharpening which is suitable for basic blades and can be done quickly. We also offer a precision sharpening which is labor intensive. The advantage of the precision sharpening is that the edges will be accurate. You cannot buy a sharpening where the edges are more level. We can also get a smoother finish and do it while removing the least amount of metal necessary.
The Store:
We carry as many things for the figure skater as we have room for. In addition to boots and blades, we have apparel, tights, and accessories.
