Our Program

The Ice Oasis Youth Hockey Program is designed to help young adults with a passion for hockey further develop their skills and learn game strategies. The program includes a one-hour practice and one game weekly. In addition to weekly rink games the program offers other benefits included in program fees including twice yearly skills clinics and seasonal and holiday socials and festivities. Find out more about our program under league information.

If your son or daughter is new to skating and hockey be sure to see the getting started section. Contact Ruben Ayala for advice about your child's getting started program.

Our History

Since 1983 Ice Oasis has trained thousands of young people to play hockey. The program is based on the techniques developed by Ken Yackel Sr. who pioneered organized hockey instruction in Minnesota in 1963. Our philosophy is simple: combine group instruction and individualized feedback to help each player achieve their personal best.

Over the years our rink and travel teams have won numerous tournaments and awards. Our player alumni have gone on to prep school, junior, NCAA, ACHA college and professional play. Many of our high school players have returned to Ice Oasis after college to play in our Adult Leagues.

We are proud of the achievements of those players that had the talent and the will to become hockey professionals however the goal of our program is to provide a safe, positive and enjoyable hockey experience for all players and to instill a love of the sport that will follow players into adulthood.
